The 1870 Coosa Co. Alabama census listed M.S. Hines age 49 married to Elizabeth age 45 with eight children. The census taker only listed the initials of the children. Their ages ranged from 19 to 2 with the 2 year old the only boy. The census listed both Mathew and Elizabeth being born in Georgia, but all the children were born in Alabama. The 1900 Coosa Co. census listed Mathew age 83 married to Elizabeth age 73, married for 51 years. They had nine children and all nine were still living. It listed two daughters divorced living with them, Francies L. Lary age 49 and Nancy E. Wilkerson age 45. Nancy had no kids and Francies had one son age 14, his name is William B. The 1900 Coosa Co. census listed Nathaniel married to Adaline for 45 years. Nathaniel was 73 and Adaline was 67. It stated they had eight children with only five still living. It listed a widowed daughter and her four children living with them, Arrie and her married name was McAlister. She was born may 1862 and was 38. She had three girls and one boy. Names of the children were: Allice 16, Mabel 14, Kelley the boy 11, and a girl name Exie 9 yrs. old.spouse: Howard, Adeline C. (1832 - 1904)

The 1900. census has Thomas G. Hines living in Autauga Co. and married to Francis and has three children listed. Thomas L., Raso S., and Minnie L. It stated they had been married 34 years and had ten children, with eight still living. So far I have only been able to come up with the names of nine children. It stated Thomas Green could not read or write and Frances could read but not write. It aso listed that Thomas L. age 21 could read and write and that Rosa age 18 and Minnie L. 16 could not read or writespouse: Thornton, Francis Lucinder (1846 - )Thomas Green Hines served in the Civil War. He was attached to 34th Alabama Infantry Company C of C S A. He was wounded in the Head by a shell. He was captured and taken prisoner on Nov. 25, 1863 at Missionary Ridge in Tenn. He was held in a military Prison in Louisville, Ky. then transfered to Rock Island, Ill. Dec. 7, 1863. On may 3, 1865 he was transfered to New Orleans where he was exchanged on May 23,1865 for Union prisoners
